Rickie Pickett’s General Store

Rickie Pickett’s General Store

My mother-in-law gave me this puzzle on one of their recent visits from Port St. Lucie, FL. She indicated it was left in their community clubhouse during the pandemic and she had brought it home to attempt, but quickly gave up as she felt it was too difficult. Most likely she got scared off by all the brown in the puzzle — there is quite a bit. So of course I was happy to take up the challenge. I have…

PUZZLE REVIEW: Donut Worry, Be Happy

PUZZLE REVIEW: Donut Worry, Be Happy

Manufacturer:  Buffalo Name:  Donut Worry, Be Happy Series:  N/A Artist / Photographer:  Lars Stewart Piece Count:  300 Piece Quality:  Excellent New / Used: New Fit:  Excellent Assembly: I had so much fun building this delicious puzzle. I could smell the sweet frosting and the heavenly aroma of freshly brewed coffee while doing this one, and it made the build all that much “sweeter”. I loved it. For those who don’t know, Lars Stewart is the husband of my absolute favorite…

Puzzle Review: Olde Buck’s County

Manufacturer:  Buffalo Name:  Olde Buck’s County Series:  None Artist / Photographer:  Charles Wysocki Piece Count:  300 Piece Quality:  Excellent New / Used: New Fit:  Excellent Assembly: I loved the colors and the overall scene in this puzzle. As has been my experience with ALL of the Buffalo 300-piece Charles Wysocki puzzles I have assembled, the quality and fit were outstanding. Buffalo does a fantastic job on these small puzzles. The pieces are thick, very sturdy and have a nice fit….

New Puzzle Day — 12/9/19

New Puzzle Day — 12/9/19

Wow! It is December already! Where did this year go?! I forgot to write up a post for the puzzles I got this week so making up for it now. Here are my most recent purchases. I cannot think of too many things I love more than new Puzzle Day. It is always a pleasurable one. I love the library looking one on the bottom and the delicious candy one the best, but I think they will all be fun!

PUZZLE REVIEW: Raining in Paris

PUZZLE REVIEW: Raining in Paris

Manufacturer:  Buffalo Name:  Raining in Paris Series:  Cities in Color Artist / Photographer:  Unknown Piece Count:  750 Piece Quality:  Very good New / Used: New Fit:  Good – not super loose, but not tight Assembly:  I was immediately drawn to this image as it’s both romantic and travel based – two of my favorite things.  This was a puzzle that was hard to walk away from and thereby, one I finished pretty quickly.  Each night I worked on it, I…

Completed: Luke Skywalker

Completed: Luke Skywalker

This harder than it looks puzzle is finally finished. And after a thankfully short-lived freak out moment over a missing piece, I can put a checkmark on this one and get it glued for Derek’s room. The quality was superb, and I think this one is going to look awesome mounted on his wall. This also means one more thing — Around the World here I come! Woo hoo!!

IN PROGRESS: Star Wars Fine Art Collection — Luke Skywalker

IN PROGRESS: Star Wars Fine Art Collection — Luke Skywalker

This 1,000-pc. Buffalo Games puzzle puts up a good fight. It has been way more challenging than I thought it would be initially. The quality of the image and the fit has been top notch, and other than the small, 300 piece Wysockis’ I have done recently, it has been the best Buffalo puzzle I have done. Certainly wayyyy better than the piece quality of the 2000 piece Winterland Fun puzzle I did earlier this year by Aimee Stewart. I…

Winterland Fun — Aimee Stewart — 2000 pieces

Winterland Fun — Aimee Stewart — 2000 pieces

One of my most favorite puzzle “themes” is Christmas or wintery scenes. I most especially love doing them in the middle of the hot FL summer. I know it’s all in my head, but somehow it always makes me feel just a tiny bit cooler to do a winter puzzle when it’s 95 degrees out with a humidity factor making it feel over 100! I also love Aimee Stewart puzzles. She is one of my favorite puzzle artists so of…
