Still Sick, but More Sick of NOT PUZZLING….

Still Sick, but More Sick of NOT PUZZLING….

So I decided to get up at 6:30 this morning and knock out a few pieces before Derek woke up.  It felt really great to be working with the pieces again.  I have really missed my puzzling time the last few weeks with the travel and all the sicknesses I have had.  I’m still not feeling well…I think I somehow caught a second cold on top of the first one starting to leave…UGH.  But, I decided to go ahead and…

So Sick of Being SICK!!!!

So Sick of Being SICK!!!!

This has been the worst few months for me as far as being sick.  During this pregnancy so far, I have been sick 5 times total.  Early in my first trimester I got a bad cold / flu virus that lasted for about 2 weeks and turned into bronchitis and a sinus infection.  Then in the second trimester I got a tooth infection and had to have it pulled.  I also got a relatively mild case of food poisoning.  Moving…

Almost 2 Weeks of Entertaining + Being 6.5 Months Pregnant = Very Little Puzzle Progress

Well after entertaining my in-laws from the Thursday before Mother’s Day until my nephew’s 2nd birthday party on May 19th, I am pleased to report that I’m DONE entertaining for a little while.  LOL  Well, until Memorial Day that is…when we are hosting a BBQ…LOL   It was a lot of fun having Mom and Dad here to visit, but it was two busy back-to-back weekends with the whole week in between and lots of parties and entertaining for the whole family.  I’m tired! Of…

The Eagle Has Landed

The Eagle Has Landed

Thankfully the NY Knicks getting through their first series in the NBA playoffs has allowed me a great opportunity to work on my puzzle a little more in the evening without having to neglect Randy in the process.  So, here’s to hoping that the Knicks continue on their winning streak in their next series against the Pacers so that I get even more puzzling time!  LOL  I got most of the wings done for the eagle (even more than the…

Thankful for NBA Playoffs

Thankful for NBA Playoffs

Since Randy wanted to watch the NBA playoffs last night I had an opportunity to spend more time working on the puzzle.  I love when I get to spend additional time with the puzzle that I wasn’t expecting.  I worked on the moon and got all but one or two of the pieces near the moon’s edge.  I put him into place in the sky.  The skyline is starting to come together pretty well between the balloons and now the moon…

Balloons and Tigers and Rocks – OH MY!

Balloons and Tigers and Rocks – OH MY!

Sorry I haven’t updated the blog in a little while, but for several days every time I went down to my puzzle room in the basement, I forgot to bring my camera with me so I couldn’t take the pictures while I was there working on it, and then of course Derek would be ready to wake up or something so I just never got around to taking any pictures until this morning.  I have made some good progress and…

Section 2 Officially Underway

Section 2 Officially Underway

Finally today, April 23, 2013, I feel like I have offiically started working on Section 2.  Prior to today I had done so little, most of which had to be redone when the borders fell off (a couple of times), that I really didn’t feel like I had made any real progress. Also, I had so many stop and go’s with starting to work on Section 2 because I was still trying to figure out what to do with Section 1…

Yet Another Change In Strategy

Yet Another Change In Strategy

I swear, by the time I get this monstrosity of a puzzle completed and mounted, I’m going to be a jigsaw puzzle mounting master!  I have changed and revised my strategy several times, and just when I think I’ve finally found the best solution, another obstacle presents itself. As I last posted, I was getting ready to put the contact paper down on the back of Section 1 so that I could easily move it off the main puzzling board…

Section 1 – Disassembled and Reassembled

Section 1 – Disassembled and Reassembled

As I stated yesterday, here are the pictures and a description of my process in flipping Section 1 over on my main puzzling board so that contact paper can be attached to the back. STEP 1:  Take a picture of the completed puzzle section – just in case you never see it this way again!  LOL  (Just kidding!!!) STEP 2:  Carefully decide where you are going to make your cut.  I wanted to use the repeat pattern borders as my…

Divide and Conquer

Divide and Conquer

I know I haven’t updated this in a little while, but it is because I have been playing around with some different ideas on how best to approach doing Section 2 with Section 1 still on my main puzzling board.  I didn’t want to get too deep into Section 2 until I got this figured out.  I have changed my strategy a couple of times, but I think I have finally found what is going to work the best…thanks to…
