Winter Whimsy (Whimsical Town Series)

Winter Whimsy (Whimsical Town Series)

This puzzle was harder than I expected especially given it was only 500 pieces. It is very colorful and I did like doing it overall, but the part that was the trickiest of all were the swirly trees and I was not a huge fan of those. This is one of several in the overall image and I struggled a bit at first with getting these little buggars figured out. As you may recall from my post about having a…

Planet Cats (by Roseart) – Movie Cats — 300 pcs

Planet Cats (by Roseart) – Movie Cats — 300 pcs

I loved this cute and silly little puzzle by RoseArt. Quality was great too. One of the puzzle You Tubers I follow has said several times she thought RoseArt’s quality has improved significantly in recent years. If this one is any indication of what newer quality is like then I would have to agree. I look forward to trying another RoseArt puzzle soon to see if her theory is correct on their larger piece counts. These were my favorite movie…

The Incredibles

The Incredibles

This is an absolute first for me and my puzzle blog. A 300-piece puzzle was completed at my puzzle board today and I only put in maybe 10 pieces! I grabbed this quick and easy puzzle knowing it would be a good palette cleanser after the Sherlock Holmes puzzle was completed. The pieces were typical thin Ceaco quality with huge pieces with a glossy finish and a pretty loose fit, but it did lay flat when assembled. Right before going…

Besties

Besties

How adorable is this image? Here is another puzzle where I would have loved to do the image in a much larger piece count. Maybe 500 pieces would have felt good. Larger than that I think would have been really difficult given the very limited color pallatte. This dog, who looks a bit like a white goldendoodle to me, is living his best life hanging out with his bestie and going on a road trip. The fit on this one…

Puzzle Posters: Spiderman

Puzzle Posters: Spiderman

Cole ended up picking this one out after we took down the crappy Big Ben puzzle he and Derek had begged me to let them do next. I felt guilty as I had totally encouraged us to not move forward any further on that monstrosity. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this kid-themed puzzle. Everyone in my family loves Spiderman and we’ve seen all the movies many times over so I guess I should have expected it wouldn’t be…

Puzzle Posters: Spiderman In Progress

Puzzle Posters: Spiderman In Progress

After the disaster that was Big Ben Times Square, I needed something fun and easy. Working on this one and already worlds better than the Big Ben puzzle. Matte finish — smallish pieces, but not bad. Super cute image. I look forward to showing the final results as soon as I get back from Texas.

Check Please (or Vintage Signs?)

Check Please (or Vintage Signs?)

Have you ever seen a puzzle that appears to have two titles? That’s what I ran into with this super cute Re-marks puzzle I finished last week. I always thought it was titled “Check Please” as that is what is written on the bottom right corner of the boxtop. Sounds reasonable, right? However, when I was almost done with the assembly I happened to look at the side of the puzzle box and noticed it had a different title altogther…

Rainbow Donuts

Rainbow Donuts

When I first started writing up this post today I really could not remember many details about the puzzle brand, or the title. It simply was another color puzzle I had in my Flickr photostream from a few years ago and which I had never posted about on here. It is amazing to me, even armed with such little information as I had, I was still able to find it on Google without too much effort. There are of course…

Shopkeeper’s Series: Anna’s Ice Cream Parlor

Shopkeeper’s Series: Anna’s Ice Cream Parlor

Isn’t this puzzle adorable? I thought so when I assembled it a year or two ago. I’m really loving the fact that I’m going back through all my completed puzzles and starting to post them on the blog now. Not only does it bring back good memories of doing a particular puzzle, I’m also discovering new things about own puzzle likes / themes. In a recent post I had mentioned discovering I’ve done a couple of really cute puzzles by…

Happy Camper

This little 300-piece Ceaco puzzle was exactly what I needed recently. I had just quit on a Ravensburger Disney-Pixar Toystore puzzle that I was not liking at the time. Believe it or not, I thought it was too detailed, and I couldn’t find a big enough area to focus on which was driving me nuts. I put it away to try again later. As my puzzle friend Stacey says, “It was not the right puzzle at the right time.” I…
