Nothing Is As Pretty As A Rizzi City With Hidden Gems

Nothing Is As Pretty As A Rizzi City With Hidden Gems

For the last month I have been adding a couple of puzzles to my collection to work on after Life is finished.  My first purchase was for a 5,000 piece puzzle that my puzzling friends, Tom and Mercedes in the USVI, recommended.  I found it on Craigslist for $20 plus shipping.  When I was first looking at the puzzle online, I didn’t really care for the picture, but then as I saw their blog entries and pictures while putting it…

Mystery Puzzle

Mystery Puzzle

I received a very nice surprise yesterday from my puzzling friends, Tom and Mercedes.  A puzzle of course!  I immediately opened the box to find an even bigger surprise inside….what do you see? Or, should I say what don’t you see?  No puzzle box or picture!  So what is it a jigsaw picture of?!  Hmmmmm…. The only thing I can tell from looking at the pieces is that it appears that it could be a Thomas Kinkade puzzle.  They know…

Feeling a Little Frustrated

Feeling a Little Frustrated

I’m not getting enough time at any given puzzling session to really make much progress which is frustrating.  I think tonight I’m going to try and bring a section of the puzzle upstairs so I can work on it even if Randy wants to watch a movie or something.  This way I can be with him, but still move forward on the puzzle.  I got in about 30 minutes this morning before Derek woke up.  I guess it’s better than…

30+ Pieces in 15 Minutes

30+ Pieces in 15 Minutes

This is an example of my luck….for the first time all week I got up early to work on the puzzle before Derek woke up.  I literally had been in the room for less than 5 minutes and he decided to wake up early (6:30 a.m.).  I decided to just let him talk and babble in his bed for another 10 minutes or so while I knocked out a few pieces.  I counted them at the end and looks like…

Slow and Steady Wins the Race, Right?

Slow and Steady Wins the Race, Right?

Hmmm….I wonder if I can qualify for some sort of “longest amount of time to finish Life puzzle” award?  LOL  I am making very slow, but progressive progress on Section 2.  Sorry I haven’t updated in a while, but haven’t been working on it much due to being sick a lot.  Hoping (fingers, toes, and eyes crossed) that this is it for a while.  I’m tired of being sick! The last couple of mornings, I worked on the puzzle a little…

Animals Almost Done

Animals Almost Done

Last night I stayed up until 1 a.m. working on the puzzle!  That’s really late for me as I’m usually in bed by 10 to 10:30 at the latest.  I was on a roll and just wanted to keep puzzling.  Plus, there’s no clock in my puzzle room so time really can get away from me in there. Anyway, I am happy to report that I made some good progress.  The horse is now mostly complete as well as the…

Still Sick, but More Sick of NOT PUZZLING….

Still Sick, but More Sick of NOT PUZZLING….

So I decided to get up at 6:30 this morning and knock out a few pieces before Derek woke up.  It felt really great to be working with the pieces again.  I have really missed my puzzling time the last few weeks with the travel and all the sicknesses I have had.  I’m still not feeling well…I think I somehow caught a second cold on top of the first one starting to leave…UGH.  But, I decided to go ahead and…

What Would You Do?

What Would You Do?

This afternoon I decided to open the Rizzi City box just to see what it looked like and feel some of the pieces.  I LOVE how Ravensburger puzzle pieces look and feel.  So much nicer than most puzzle makers.  But then now I have a dilemna, and I wanted to get other puzzling enthusiasts thoughts. I bought the puzzle used through Amazon from a guy who had completed and disassembled it and put it back in the original box before selling. …

So Sick of Being SICK!!!!

So Sick of Being SICK!!!!

This has been the worst few months for me as far as being sick.  During this pregnancy so far, I have been sick 5 times total.  Early in my first trimester I got a bad cold / flu virus that lasted for about 2 weeks and turned into bronchitis and a sinus infection.  Then in the second trimester I got a tooth infection and had to have it pulled.  I also got a relatively mild case of food poisoning.  Moving…

Awesome Puzzle Wall

Awesome Puzzle Wall

About a year or so ago when we were still trying to decide on a housing development and floor plan in the metro Atlanta area, we came across a house and floor plan that we fell in love with.  Unfortunately, the development the house was located in wasn’t exactly what we were looking for so we ended up moving on.  I had forgotten all about an awesome room just off the master that the model had turned into a kid’s…
