Old Pumpkin Farm

Old Pumpkin Farm

I don’t think I’ve ever “met” a Dominic Davison puzzle image I have not either loved or at least really liked. He is one of my all-time favorite puzzle artists. I have often picked up a puzzle in a store because I loved the image immediately only to discover after the purchase when I actually looked at the artist that it was one of his. I would then usually say to myself, well that makes sense because I love all his work.

This puzzle was another one I loved the moment I saw it and wished afterward I had it in a larger piece count. It was over too quickly at only 300 pieces. I think I may have seen it somewhere not too long ago in a larger piece count — 1000 maybe? I don’t remember for sure though.

Eurographics makes good quality puzzles and most of them I’ve done have had a matte finish which I love. It makes puzzling so much easier when there’s not a terrible glare from the light source on the pieces.

I think one of the main reasons I love this image so much is that it represents my favorite time of the year — fall! I love the colors, the amazing smelling baked goods that tend to start being made, pumpkin spice everything in the stores, and of course, football season starting. There’s something so beautiful about a huge tree whose leaves have started to turn from a deep green to a yellow, orange or even red tone. When all the colors are represented on one tree it’s absolutely stunning.

I had a lot of fun with this build and its actually a puzzle I’ve built a couple of times over the years. The last time Cole did most of it which was super fun to watch as he worked his way through start to finish.

Here’s a finished shot — sorry it’s a little crooked. I’m realizing more and more as I work my way through all the puzzles I’ve completed and not yet posted, I didn’t always do a very good job with the pictures. I’ve made a vow to try to be much better about that moving forward.
