Midnight in San Francisco

Midnight in San Francisco

Is it just me or does this really not look like midnight in the City by the Bay? It looks way too “light” to be midnight anywhere other than Alaska in the summer, but maybe it’s just me. Hee hee

Regardless, this was such a fun puzzle to put together and made all the better by the fact I assembled most of it with my brother Russ when he was out visiting for one of my annual Super Bowl Parties a few years ago. He enjoys puzzles and especially likes to do one or two with me when he visits. It’s always a lot of fun to do that and I look forward to those puzzling sessions immensely.

All but the border done!

Being from California, I was drawn to this one first, but I plan to do the others in this series. I really love Madalina Tantareanu’s artwork and style. The Cities at Midnight series has at least 5 puzzles that I’m aware of and I think I have all of them now.

  • Midnight in Rome
  • Midnight in New York
  • Paris at Midnight
  • Midnight in Prague
  • Midnight in San Francisco — completed

I’m hoping to do each one and frame them all to hang / decorate my upstairs guest bedroom. They’re all the same size from the same puzzle manufacturer, KI Puzzles, and will look amazing as a collection on the wall in that room.

  1. I have this puzzle and I had the same question- it doesn’t look like midnight! Especially since people are doing things like mowing the grass and kids playing in the park, that you don’t really do in the middle of the night. It’s a fun puzzle though, just seems a misfit title.

    1. I totally agree, Jeane! I love the artwork regardless, but I think the “Midnight” part is a bit deceiving.

  2. I have this puzzle! I agree with you- and some of those activities I’ve never seen anyone do at midnight- mowing the grass? kids playing in the park? It’s a nice puzzle but I felt that the title was a misnomer.
