Mom’s Pantry

Mom’s Pantry

I barely remember doing this puzzle and don’t appear to have very many pictures of it, including a completion photo, but I will share what I have anyway. I do seem to recall this was a very easy build and the quality was just OK. There’s an entire series of “Flashback” puzzles by Master Pieces and I think I have at least one more in the to do closet.

I think I have eaten, at least once, almost every item featured in the puzzle. Some were favorites, like Pringles, Pop-Secret popcorn, and Pop Tarts (wow, apparently I like foods starting with P). Wait….that didn’t sound quite right either. LOL I used to drink a boatload of Kool-Aid as I did not tolerate milk well when I was a little kid. Unfortunately that meant lots of Kool-Aid and soda which likely contributed to my weight issues pretty early on in childhood.

One of my least favorite items featured is Spam. How on earth anyone could eat this, let alone like it, is beyond my comprehension. LOL

I seem to recall this one was fun to do, but that’s about all I remember. I think it’s been at least 4 or 5 years ago since I put it together and as I’ve made pretty clear on here recently, my memory is definitely NOT what it used to be, unfortunately.

Here’s my one in progress shot, and that’s all I got. 🤔

Did you eat / like many of these foods as a child too?

  1. I have never tried Spam and I don’t think I ever will! But most of these others are yes, very familiar. Especially Tang! My mother had a large container of that in the cupboard, we mixed up Tang frequently.

  2. We ate lots of the store brand of many of these items because we couldn’t always afford the name brand, mom saved every penny she could. I do remember we used to go a day-old store (my sisters and I called it the “Used Bread Store”, where we could stock up on hostess snack cakes that were almost expired and go home and have a blast eating the “real” brand name snacks. LOL My favorite was the Hostess apple pies, I’d put them in the microwave for a few seconds to warm them up – yummmmm!

I actually don’t mind Spam, I like to fry it up till it’s crispy and have it on bread with mustard. It’s not an all the time thing, but once in a while it’s nice. 😁
