I lived in Seattle for a very brief time (about six weeks) back in August 2002 when I moved there to join households with my then boyfriend, Randy. He was living there doing a consulting assignment for Starbucks headquarters at the time. Once we knew for sure that we were going to take our relationship to the next level I moved in with him from northern California. We decided we would start looking for a more permanent job back in the Orlando, FL area where he already owned a home prior to coming out to Seattle for what he thought would just be about a six month consulting gig – it turned into three years instead. I was there from August 8th to about September 21st and most of that time was spent traveling. We met Randy’s parents in Las Vegas around the 18th of August, and during the last couple of days that month we traveled to Orlando so I could actually see the state I’d agreed to move to for the first time, Unfortunately I then flew home for one day and back to CA to attend the memorial service for a friend’s husband. A couple weeks later in mid-September, Randy got a consulting job back in Orlando and we had less than a week to pack up the entire apartment and move across the country! It was a whirlwind of activity that’s for sure.
Seattle is a beautiful city with so much to do. You have the city, the mountains, and the ocean all at your fingertips. I enjoyed the short time I spent there so when I saw this cute little mini wooden puzzle from Dowdle I really wanted to try it out. I have not done very many wooden puzzles as they’re just so expensive, but these were far more reasonably priced so I took a chance. The fit is terribly loose, but other than that it’s a really fun build. The image quality was fantastic and even though it was so loose you couldn’t pick anything up to move it, it was still highly enjoyable. I ended up sending the puzzle to Stacey, and you can check out her review of it here. The presentation of the puzzle box was lovely too. Each little box has the pieces wrapped in paper with a D for Dowdle sticker to keep it looking nice. I loved this extra touch at making the puzzle feel special.
I am really looking forward to working on a handful more of these super cute mini woodies in the near future..
