Cole ended up picking this one out after we took down the crappy Big Ben puzzle he and Derek had begged me to let them do next. I felt guilty as I had totally encouraged us to not move forward any further on that monstrosity.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this kid-themed puzzle. Everyone in my family loves Spiderman and we’ve seen all the movies many times over so I guess I should have expected it wouldn’t be bad. I was; however, very pleasantly surprised to discover how engrossing and fun this one would turn out to be. I had a ton of fun building this and both Randy and Cole helped which was great too.
My favorite set of Spiderman movies is the set of four with Tom Holland as the famous web crawler. We actually just watched Brand New Day in the theater when it came out a couple of weeks ago. It was amazing! I think I still give a very slight nod to No Way Home just because of how it incorporated all the previous versions of Spiderman and its cast of characters into one movie. It was brilliantly done.
I think the two-colored pencil drawings were the most fun to put together other than the large Spiderman in the middle of the puzzle. These are so childlike in the drawings, but I love them.
I was also excited to try this Trefl puzzle since I just recently purchased a couple of mega Trefl puzzles and wasn’t completely sure what the quality would be like. Fortunately, I am happy to report the quality was great. The pieces on this 500 piecer have a matte finish which was lovely, and although the pieces were a little on the smaller side, it wasn’t annoyingly small.
And best of all — I was able to do a Stacey stance pic at the end — though it did start to crumble just a little bit on the right side, I was still able to get a pic first.
All in all, this puzzle was super fun to put together and not overly difficult. Lots of red Spiderman pieces everywhere, but based on how close up or far out in the distance each were it wasn’t too difficult to put together. I would give this one a try – especially if you have children (or a child like husband) who loves Spiderman. It will not disappoint.
