I wish I could say this puppy puzzle was fantastic as it is adorable, but quality on this one was less than optimal. It didn’t lay completely flat for some reason like most White Mountain puzzles I’ve done. The image reproduction was excellent, but in the finished image you could see where some pieces were slightly raised above the others. This was really annoying.
I was happy to be finished with it, only to discover there was one piece missing. GRRRR. I hate it when that happens. I had already taken the disappointing puzzle apart when I found the missing piece on the floor in my office / puzzle room. Oh well…at least it ended up being complete and I was able to put the missing piece back in the box before getting rid of it.
Lately White Mountain has been a little bit hit or miss for me. Traditionally over the years the image quality / resolution has been amazing and the fit, while not usually tight, still pretty good. It has always laid flat for the most part so maybe this one was an anomaly. The Lunch Boxes puzzle I did by them a while back had horrid image resolution and things were so blurry to the point where I was about 3/4’s done with it and I put it back in the box. I was having a really difficult time with it and was not enjoying it at all. This was one from earlier in the 2000’s so maybe they had some quality / resolution issues during that time. I’m not sure, but these two were definitely disappointing.
All in all though the puzzle was fun to assemble and I love the faces of some of them. The English Bulldog with the derby hat in the bottom row second from left makes me smile. He just looks so cute. I also really love the two “foo foo” dogs in the pink and purple. I believe the one in the middle row with the missing piece is likely a Shih Tzu and the one on the bottom right corner is a Lhasa Apso. I love both of these breads of dog. They’re just so adorable.
