Vacation Mickey — Italian Style

Clearly it does not pay for me to step away from the blog for so long. I wrote up this “new” blog post last night thinking I had never talked about it before because when I did my initial search of the blog I did not find the original post. But, after going through a few of my older posts – circa 2020, low and behold there it was. Funny enough I said a lot of the same things below that I said originally back in 2020. So at least I can say I’m consistent, right? Oh well, I’m posting this one again anyway because I love the image, and can provide a 2026 update to say that it’s still sitting under my bed for some weird reason — I don’t know why I never had it framed because I ADORE the image.
Apologies if you’re reading this again for the second time, but if you happen to be a new reader — here you go!

Randy and I were lucky enough to spend an incredible 10 days in Italy for our honeymoon in November 2004. It was the best and most enjoyable vacation we ever had as a couple. Only to be matched equally exactly 20 years later when we went on a European vacation with our two boys
For our honeymoon, we arrived in Rome and spent the first two days there touring St. Peter’s Square, the Coliseum, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and of course, The Vatican and Sistine Chapel. I am not a religious person in the least, but I have to say the time we spent in The Chapel and the walkways leading up to it were some of the most breathtaking works of art I have ever seen in my entire life. Just jaw droppingly gorgeous at every turn. It was an awe inspiring experience all the way around.
We also toured Pisa, rode on a gondola in Venice, shopped in Florence, rode through the Tuscany area, and even made a tour stop at a winery which was super fun. It was an amazing trip and we brought home so many memories that we still treasure and think of often.
So when I saw this puzzle a bunch of years ago, I knew immediately I simply had to have it. This build was so much fun and brought with it a smile-inducing trip down memory lane in the process. Of course we didn’t have the pleasure of having Goofy as our gondolier, but how fun would that have been? LOL
Assembly of this beautiful puzzle was quick and relatively easy and I enjoyed every single minute of it. I glued the puzzle and it has been sitting under my downstairs guest bed for years now. Writing up this post made me remember it was still there, and I need to dig it out, dust if off and get it framed to hang on a wall very soon. I give this one a 5 out of 5 stars under the Tuscan moon.
