This was the second puzzle I recently picked up at Hobby Lobby from a company called Brother Sister Design Studio. I had pretty low expectations as I had never heard of this company, and even when I opened the first one, Pretty in Pink, I thought the pieces seemed a little bit thin. However, I was soon pleasantly surprised as the pieces fit together so nicely.
When I opened Santa Paws for a quick puzzle fix a few nights ago, I had higher expectations. I am happy to report this one did not disappoint. It has a slightly more glossy finish than Pretty in Pink, but not so much so as to make it annoying. The box says, “Christmas Party” which to me wasn’t a great title — so I made up my own. Hee hee
I loved this image because it reminds me so much of my two beloved Bostons I had when I still lived at home with my parents. We bought Mandee Sue from a friend of my mom’s who bred Boston Terriers. We got her at only 4 weeks old, and she was no bigger than a large mouse at the time. She was just adorable. She would run and play as hard and as fast as she possibly could for a few minutes and then she would crawl up into the crook of someone’s arm and fall fast asleep for the next hour or so. Just adorable! I always loved giving her a kiss right on the spot where her nose met her mouth. It was just so soft and squishy. *Puppy Love*
Several years after we got Mandee Sue, the breeder friend told my mom she was thinking of getting rid of Mandee’s mother as she had “served her purpose” and could not have any more liters of puppies. My mom and I were annoyed she had used the dog as nothing more than a puppy making factory so we told her that we would be happy to take her — and that’s how we ended up getting Misty Moo, several years after getting her daughter! Misty was the sweetest and most loving momma dog. She continued to bathe Mandee Sue (and boy was Mandee happy to let her) almost daily, and was never too far from her side.
Mandee Sue was a beautiful, and very self-entitled diva. She only weighed about 12 – 15 pounds which just added to her cuteness. Don’t get me wrong, she was a sweet girl too, but definitely more high maintenance than her momma! 🙂
I miss those beautiful, sweet babies! They both have long passed, but they are both still my two most favorite dogs in my entire life thus far. I would love to have more, but my husband is allergic to both dogs and cats so having one is not really an option at this point, unfortunately. But at least I have friends like Stacey over at My Jigsaw Journal who provides me with much needed pictures of her gorgeous Boston, Buddy. Aww, ain’t he cute?!
