This puzzle took a little longer to put together than I was expecting, but it was absolutely worthwhile. It is a gorgeous image! The color saturation was phenomenal and the quality was great too. I loved working on this one so much and am really looking forward to doing the other Britto’s in my collection.
Randy helped quite a bit with this one which was great as it was way trickier than I thought it would be when I first started. You can see the very subtle shade difference on the upper right side of the puzzle in the yellow area that has polka dots that are only about one shade darker than the yellow background. This was not an easy area to put together. The blue / purplish polka dot area on the left was also tricky, but not quite as much.
The quality on this puzzle was pretty good. Although when two pieces got stuck together with a knob / hole, it was sometimes difficult to fix it without fear of lifting the paper off the top. I only had one piece where the paper tore, and it’s down on the bottom left. Fortunately the piece was all white so I was able to fix it and now it’s not visible unless you’re close up.
I have special plans for this puzzle, but don’t want to reveal that now in case the special recipient is reading this blog post. Suffice to say it will be a special gift for someone I love dearly. More about it once the project is done.
I think this was my first Bluebird puzzle, even though I have several in my collection (mostly other Britto’s). The image quality and color saturation are top notch. The feel of the puzzle pieces was wonderful and had a very soft touch, almost velvety feel which was really nice.
Overall, I give this puzzle a big, colorful two thumbs up. I LOVE Britto’s artwork so that made this even more special. I have collected a couple of things featuring his artwork — Mickey and Mini figurines, a purse, and a couple of coffee mugs. His art is truly stunning and the images make me super happy.
