My wonderful kids and hubby got me this gorgeous puzzle a couple years ago for Mother’s Day. I absolutely ADORE it. Both Derek and Cole wore these exact costumes one year for Halloween. We were a big superhero fan family when they were little, and still are to this day.
Half of this puzzle was a blast and went together pretty easily. All the brightly colored areas were fairly easy to figure out. The “best mom ever” wording was a tiny bit trickier than building me, Derek and Cole, but NOTHING in comparison to the gray comic strip background of the entire puzzle.
This background wouldn’t have been nearly as difficult if each of the strips were different scenes and words in bubbles, but unfortunately the exact same strip / wording appeared multiple times in various areas of the puzzle making this by far one of the hardest puzzles to complete that I’ve ever done.
I’m not going to lie — there were numerous times during the build of this gray background that I wanted to throw in the towel, but how could I as a mom do that to my kids and hubby who picked and customized such a perfect puzzle just for me? I couldn’t of course so I kept at it and trudged along until it was finished. To say that it was brutal would be somewhat of an understatement. It was really, really difficult, but I did not let the puzzle win. I finally finished it, and boy what a stunning picture it turned out to be. I absolutely love it!
I knew there was no way I would ever want to put this together again so I had it framed. It looks gorgeous. I am going to have Randy hang it on the wall in my office soon so I can cherish it for a lifetime.
