Alice

I completed this puzzle several years ago, but since I was not good about posting on the blog during this time, I never wrote up anything about it. This was my very first Magnolia brand puzzle and to say I immediately fell in love with the brand would be a huge understatement.

Ironically, I am not big on Alice in Wonderland as a story / movie. It’s very fantasy based and unrealistic, and I struggle to enjoy movies like that generally. However, I absolutely ADORED this image and it was for that reason alone I decided to try it, and I am so happy I did.

Have you ever experienced running your hands over the pieces of a puzzle and feeling like they were “buttery”? I know that probably sounds weird since running your hands over butter would typically make you think greasy and oily and that you need to wash your hands, but for puzzle pieces, at least in my warped mind, means it just feels velvety soft like un-melted butter. That’s what this Magnolia puzzle felt like. I found myself frequently rubbing the pieces as I was picking them up to place within the puzzle.

It was truly a pleasure to put together from beginning to end. I love Romi Lerda’s artwork and have several of her images from Magnolia including another Alice image. I am really looking forward to doing the next one of hers soon.

Here is the completed image. Isn’t she beautiful? I sent this puzzle to Stacey who completed it quickly and put it up on her blog way before this one. LOL Then, just this week, I handed it over to my long time bestie, Gina, while she was here in FL for my son’s bar mitzvah. I have no doubts that this one will hold up well to a third round of assembly, and hopefully even more after she’s done.
