Full-time work + 2 Full-time Virtual Learners = Very Little Puzzle Time

Wow, it has been a while since I posted anything on the blog. In fact, today is the first time in about one month that I even turned on my personal laptop. I’m 99% of the time in front of my work laptop, sitting at my desk or in front of my kids’ laptops helping them with their virtual lessons. It’s kicking my butt big time!

The boys are winding down their first nine weeks of virtual learning for 5th and 2nd grades. It has been challenging at times, but they are doing fantastic and have really adapted well to this new normal. My only question is who’s bright idea was it to put their work area within easy reach of the kids!?! Ohhh wait — that was me! Idiot! LOL

I am also very blessed to have a fantastic job with Lockheed Martin and I love it! So much fun, and truly for the first time in my career, a full-time IT role — finally putting my IT degree to good use! LOL It has been a wonderful first year with them and I have learned SOOOOO much in that time, but it also means I have had very little puzzle time which is not so great.

There have been many a night recently where I sit down at the dining room table after dinner / dishes are done and the kids are in bed to work on more of my 42,000 Around the World puzzle and the next thing I know Randy is shutting off the TV and saying, “Ready to head up to bed?” Apparently I’m now sleeping while sitting up — double wow!

So here I am now, bright and early on a Saturday morning to say that not a lot of puzzling has been accomplished recently, but I will post pictures in a few minutes of the latest progress — made good headway on the Golden Gate Bridge and continuing to add to the other skyscrapers. I am down to one bucket of remaining skyscraper buildings that I didn’t initially sort into a specific building’s pile as it was too difficult to discern at the time. Will be working through that this week before finally moving on to another area — possibly the sky or the border (haven’t even started to tackle that yet). More to come and thank you to all those who have stuck with me throughout the years. I appreciate you more than words can say.

Happy puzzling Saturday all!
