I am thrilled to announce that on February 2, 2019 at 11:40 p.m. I happily placed the final piece into my glorious 24,000 piece Life puzzle. My life is now complete! ???
Wow, what an incredible ride this has been! For more than 8.5 years I have been dutifully working on this big, beautiful beast of a puzzle. I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment I have spent working on it. I never once thought I would give up, or that I simply couldn’t do it. I made a commitment to myself and to my husband who thought I was nuts spending $240 on a huge puzzle that I would “likely never finish”, but who’s laughing now?! Huh…huh? I did it!!!!
I am extremely grateful to my friends and family who have supported me along the way in this journey whether in person or virtual, I thank you! A special shout out to Linnette Ott and Nicole Felix who helped put in some pieces along the way, and to my husband, Randy, who supported me along the way although he never actually put in a single piece! LOL
Some interesting facts / stats to note:
1. The last area of each and every section to be completed was the surface of the water. Weird, right? Especially considering my stated goal in Section 1 was to not keep that area to the very end. Apparently I am great at following my own advice.
2. I am actually happy to know I am only missing two pieces in the entire puzzle! I know, most people would be crying for days over that fact, but considering this puzzle has moved three times to three different houses in two different states, and was worked on in five different places over the course of the eight years, six months, and ten days it took to complete, I don’t think that’s so bad! LOL
3. Completion dates for each of the four sections
- Section 4 – Completed February 2, 2019 (4 years, 2 months, 12 days after start)
- Section 3 – Completed April 27, 2015 (1 year, 14 days after start)
- Section 2 – Completed April 13, 2014 (1 year, 11 days after start)
- Section 1 – Completed April 2, 2013 (2 years, 8 months, 10 days after start)
Now I just have to figure out where I can possibly hang it. When I initially started it, I had intended to put it in my kids’ playroom in my basement. However, by the time I finally finished, I had moved back to Florida and didn’t have a basement any longer. But….it is DONE, DONE, DONE!!!! ???
